Historic charm galore

Would recommend for a weekend vacation

Charming atmosphere, friendly staff, great food, complete with a lovely vegan breakfast option upon request, and a nice bar/lounge area to unwind after exploring the area.

I really appreciated the friendly receptionist. She was very helpful, especially with my partner's mobility issues. We managed to park right outside our room, which was a stroke of luck since it got busy later. The room was lovely, clean, and the shower worked perfectly. We had a nice meal at the restaurant before the show nearby. I asked to keep the car there while we explored Crickhowell, and they had no problem with that. A downside was the bed. it felt a bit firmer than I prefer. a pleasant stay, with just the bed being a bit too hard for comfort.

Perfect spot for couples seeking a getaway

One night we had a lovely dinner in the bar, the food was exceptional. They had a dessert that was so good, I regretted not ordering two! It was just amazing, every bite was like heaven.

It wasn't exactly cheap, but I guess for the quality, you get what you pay for.

I appreciated the historical charm, with original features like oak beams and cozy alcoves. The bar area was welcoming, and the entire hotel layout was accessible, making it easy for seniors to navigate comfortably.

A few more seating options in common areas would help.

i stayed here for one night and was pleasantly surprised. after a previous visit to crickhowell, this place exceeded my expectations, especially with a great atmosphere for kids to play safely. my room was cozy and clean, and the breakfast options were delicious and freshly made.

the wi-fi was quite slow.

The room had a lovely big space, very modern with a huge bed that felt super comfy. The bathroom was well presented and clean. Really nice tea and coffee selection with shortbread biscuits too! The heating did make a bit of noise at night, which was a little distracting. it was great!

The charming old-world decor, with its oak beams and cozy nooks, instantly made me feel at home. The warm atmosphere was perfect for relaxing, and the accessible layout ensured everyone could explore without worry.

More seating options in common areas would be beneficial.

the rooms at bear were spacious and had everything we needed. the location is fantastic with plenty to do. Great access to walking trails in the national park. the slow-braised beef cheek on mac and cheese was packed with flavor! seeing many locals enjoying their time there added to the charm.

Historic building with charming character and very friendly staff. The rooms need better sound insulation. noise from the bar can be disruptive at night. Great location for hiking and nearby golf course.

This place suits me perfectly with excellent Wi-Fi, a welcoming bar area, and reliable luggage storage. I remember how the staff helped with printing my documents during my first stay. I'll definitely return for a romantic escape!

Some minor inconveniences marred the stay, like the awkwardly high panel on the shower bath, making it tricky for elderly guests to get in and out safely. the carpets on the stairs are worn, which could make it feel less fresh than the overall aesthetic of the room. Lastly, the limited parking available could be frustrating arriving later in the day, as finding alternative parking options nearby can be a hassle.

A Cozy Gem with Exceptional Dining

Our stay in a lovely courtyard room was enhanced by a warm welcome from the staff. Enjoyed a delicious seafood dinner, and breakfast featuring local produce. Tip, reserve a dinner table to avoid waiting! A delightful experience that will bring us back soon.
